  5. YOUR QUEST
  6.     You are archmage alchemist Bert, and you must defeat the evil Pieces of Hate, and finally battle the titanic twisted brilliance of their king, High Octane.  Can you turn the despoiled Chessboards of Lead into gold?
  7. HOW TO PLAY SARGONOIDZ
  8.     When you run Sargo Noidz, after the little night music and reading the intro notice, hit RETURN to go to the game.

  10.     To start a game, choose ╥New Game╙ from the game menu (or press Open-Apple-N).  The first level (╥Pawn Shop╙) will begin, and pawns will be marching down a chessboard at you!  Move about will the I-J-K-L cluster, or use the numeric keypad╤8 is up, 4 is left, 5 is down, and 6 is right.  The arrows also
  11.     work to move Bert around.

  13.     The chess pieces will move just like in normal chess.  You will soon grow to hate the knights. The goal is to get to level eight and defeat the evil King, High Octane.  Anyway, let╒s look at each of the menus.

  15.     APPLE MENU
  16.     About SargoNoidz  This is basically whodunnit.
  17.     Help  This will refresh your memory on what keys to press and what to do.

  19.       GAME MENU
  20.     Close DA  This allows you to close a desk accesory window if you opened one.
  21.     New Game  This starts a New Game.
  22.     End Game  This ends the current game.
  23.     Sound  This allows you to turn the sound off and on.
  24.     Quit  This will quit Sargo Noidz.

  27.     This is here for desk accessories.

  29.     PRACTICE MENU
  30.     You may practice any of the eight levels of Sargo Noidz, but you aren╒t eligible for high score when you practice.

  32. HINTS ON PLAYING SARGO NOIDZ
  33.     Some good tips:
  34.     Ñ Walk up three, over three, and down three, and then fill in this little box of squares you have made.  This makes a "fort" from which to strike.  Unless you are close to the edge, knights cannot jump on you.
  35.     Ñ Box in pieces so they cannot move.
  36.     Ñ Watch out for the king╤he has intelligence and will avoid you until he can take you.  You need to get him when he can╒t move.
  37.     Ñ After the fourth level, the pieces do not march in order.  Thus, you cannot rely on a piece not moving again right after it has moved.

  39. CONCLUSION

  42. COPYING SARGONOIDZ TO YOUR OWN DISK
  43.     Select ╥File Copier╙ from the FILE menu (or press Open-Apple F).  This will run the Installer, which will allow you to copy files off of Softdisk G-S onto your own disks.
